That was very beautifully said. It really makes you realize how fortunate you are and how we shamefully take so much for granted or complain about issues that aren't really there when so many people are alot worse off.

America absolutely is not perfect. There's alot of things that need to change but we can be thankful that for now at least, we're not living in the midst of a raging war.

I think people have become so cynical because we live in a world where there are too many takers who take too much and give nothing back. I too have met many people like this. But I like to think I'm a good judge of character. I know when someone genuinely needs help and when someone is just taking advantage. The latter never gets my help and I don't feel bad about that at all.

While I agree that in such circumstances the woman usually comes out pretty badly, I wouldn't say that's ALWAYS the way. Harry has had more than his fair share of criticism. In fact I'd go as far as to say I think he's had more than his wife. And while alot of people did say stuff about Jada, Will Smith did not escape the situation unscathed.

There's a lot of you here who agree with Green when she talks about putting her belongings away so that they don't get destroyed by her houseguests. But why the hell should she? Surely her guests should know how to behave in someone else's home. I say she keeps the things where they are and god help anyone who breaks anything!

I'm the same Carrotstix. I don't have a problem with telling guests who come to my home not to step out of line if they are doing so. Of course I'm not rude about it but I do assert myself appropriately. If it happens again, I'll get a more severe warning and if this behavior keeps being repeated, well guess what? They're not coming back any time soon! Nobody should go to someone's home and behave in an inconsiderate manner.

Honestly, find yourself a new MOH! I understand that you guys are still friends but if the bond just isn't the same then I would just ask the person I wanted to ask. The other commenters have said pretty much the same thing and I think it's the right thing to do.

Every relationship or former relationship even is different. I don't actively keep in touch with ex boyfriends but one is still very much a part of our friendship group so of course I still see him and everything is very civil. Not that there was any big dramatic break up. It didn't work out so we amicably went our separate ways. I have a new boyfriend and the guys are cool. There's no jealousy or anything. I come from a very small town so when I go home, it's inevitable that I'll run into someone who I once dated. If that happens we might make small talk but that's it. I certainly won't be rushing to add them on Facebook or anything. I have no desire to stay in touch but that doesn't mean we can't all be adults without any awkwardness when we all happen to meet up.

Whether Jada said something to rile him up or not, which is what everyone is saying, Will is a grown man. It was his job and his responsibility to show some restraint.

I totally agree with you girl. I was stunned by what I saw but Will Smith has been around a long time and we all know this isn't like him. But that said, walking up on stage and hitting someone is unacceptable. For many years I worked in the arts industry which also included attending awards shows. I never saw anything like this thankfully - even though I was surrounded by divas, attitudes and egos!

Will was completely out of line. What more can anyone say! I think it was right to ban him from the Oscars but I'm glad that he was allowed to keep his award. Despite what he did, taking the award from Will would have been a bit extreme.

That's awesome Fishcakes. I have friends from Sydney, though only one is still in Washington state. I only really got into travel fairly late in my life, and while I've explored a few European countries and India, I am very much looking forward to seeing all that Australia has to offer. The question is when???

I'm really glad that you said that Angel. America is vast and of course there is so much diversity in terms of landscape, climate, people, culture etc. So no it's really not the same. But despite the differences, we are united as one nation... at least we're supposed to be! 🙄

Hi BettaDaze! I'm not a gardener on your scale. Not even close. So that's kind of impressive. I have a small yard which I've enjoyed making look pretty but no serious gardening as yet. Though I'm hoping to get started one day!

As some of the guys on here have said, I'm also not religious and neither am I a parent. But the way I see the whole godparent thing is that you choose people you love and trust who you want in your child's life to provide love and extra guidance should they need it. I guess it's like having an honorary aunt or uncle. I don't actually know what it meant centuries ago or anything but I think now, as long as you know someone who's got a good heart, who has your child's best intentions at heart and who you think will be a good influence on your kids then that's all you need to look for in a godparent.
