I think I would have to tell my husband! Can't see me able to hide this from him but otherwise I wouldn't tell anyone. I would of course find a way to give money to close family and friends though I'd have to be clever about it as I wouldn't want anyone to twig! As for giving up work, well not on your nelly! I love my job. I run my own business so I would actually use the bulk of my winnings to invest in my business and expand.

I'm self-employed and mostly work alone. I suppose the closest I have to colleagues are the friends I hire when I need extra help - so yes, I do consider them my friends! LOL! But I have business associates that I have a very good relationship with, and I've got to be good friends with some of them. As long as you respect professional boundaries there shouldn't be a problem.

Mine has diamonds and opals! I wanted something different but didn't want to stray too far from tradition. And no I wouldn't have had a problem with emeralds at all. I think they're beautiful.

It's good that the two of you are still friends but if you don't feel that she's the right person to be your maid of honour, then perhaps it would be a good idea to say something. If you find it difficult to say something in person, why don't you write her a letter. Be honest and say that you have someone in mind for that particular role but she's still very welcome to be a bridesmaid. As your friendship is not quite what it was, she might have already figured that anyway and is probably waiting for you to say something. Along with accepting such a role, comes a lot of responsibility and if your friend has young children, she'll probably not be able to commit the time to being a good maid of honour to you. Of course I don't know the ins and outs of it all and I'm just putting things out there. But the bottom line is if you don't feel so comfortable in asking her to be your MOH, then don't do it. It's your day after all.

Thankfully I don't have such issues with my in-laws but I have had house guests like this. My husband and I are on the same page with this one so it doesn't matter whose family/friend it is, if they behave shoddily in our house, they just don't get invited back again. But I know that this is family, and your husband's family at that. So I think that you should talk to him, and let him deal with it as his family are his responsibility.

Oh definitely, darling! Date nights are so important when you're part of a couple, especially when you're a couple who has been together for so long (round about two decades) like we have and have children. It's so important to find time for yourselves and do things that both enjoy like shared interests. We both like things like live music and outdoors activities, water sports etc. But it's not something you can do every week or so, so we do the usual thing like go to the cinema or out for a meal or drinks etc. It doesn't matter what we do as long as we have that time to ourselves.

What you've said Bonita sounds a lot like where we live now. It really is a fantastic place with lots of lovely people and like you, I'm pleased that my children get to grow up in a place like this one. It's just that a few encounters with some not so nice people has left me a bit wary which is why the article struck a bit of a nerve with me.

And it's exactly these types of people who make us all a little less charitable and sometimes it's the people who genuinely have a problem who miss out because we don't want to be taken in again. It really is quite sad.

But that's just it, it's not always easy to know who's genuine and who isn't. But I do agree with you that on the whole, such sites are a brilliant idea.

And quite right too. But that's the thing though - weeding out the problem people from the genuine ones.

You're right when you say there's no one size fits all for everyone and it really is up to the individuals involved. But you're also right when you say that most people can't imagine being friends with an ex and I'm one of them. And neither do I want to have to deal with my husband's exes, however nice they may be!

I also would have tried to talk my husband out of going after someone especially if I thought it might get out of hand, so I don't know why Jada just sat there. maybe she was pleased that Will was going to give Chris what for. Some women are flattered when their man comes over all knight in shining armour. But I do agree there was way too much hate aimed at Jada. It was Will that used his fists after all - not Jada.

I think your story would give hope to a lot of people who are locked in bitter disputes with regards to kids, custody etc. It's always important to put the needs of the kids first and from what you've said it seems that you've done that perfectly even getting on well with your ex's new girlfriend. I think that's great. You don't all have to be besties. You just need to do what's in the children's best interests.

I know you don't have to be a parent to feel for those little ones but I look at my kids and wonder how I would feel in that awful predicament. I hope all those children are in a safe place with their families or at least with someone who is looking after them well.
