I agree! I'm a diamond girl too, and I love my ring because it looks classic and elegant. I don't think diamond rings ever date.

I had both of my kids christened. We're not particularly religious but we thought it was a lovely thing to do for our kids. We did have to choose godparents of course, and I'm happy to say that we chose who we felt were the very best people for the job. It's like creating additional family for my children, other people who will be there to love and support them throughout their lives. I would never have picked someone just to be 'godparent for the day' or anyone I didn't think would be there for my kids as they grew up. That was what was important to me.

Hmm... I think I consider my colleagues work friends. But they may not be in the same league as my non-work friends if that makes sense to anyone. I like them, I respect them, I do see some of them out of work, and I did invite some to my wedding and my kids' christenings and things like that. But I wouldn't go to them with deeply personal problems. And as we all know, people might be friendly while they're at work but when one of you leaves, chances are you might not see each other again. I think with work friendships, it's always best to play it safe.

I do agree with you, Trailblazer, but putting her things away is the only way I can see of Green safeguarding her belongings. We can't change people's behaviour no matter how much we might want to. The only thing we can do is apply common sense and do what we need to do - even if it means extra work for us!

While I agree with you Fishcakes up to a certain point (yes people in general do have a go at women) I wouldn't say that it's always the woman who gets it. With Will Smith for example, regardless of what people have said about Jada, Will did NOT come out of this well at all. His reputation has been well and truly tarnished and I don't think people will ever look at him the way they once did. And admittedly while Camilla got it the worst due to her affair with Charles, it doesn't mean that everyone has been very forgiving to Charles. Diana was loved by so many so even though a lot of time has passed, people won't forget this in a hurry.

I'm guessing by now you've chosen your maid of honor. Do let us know what you decided but for what it's worth, I agree with everyone else on here. I wouldn't give someone such an important role if I wasn't super close to them.

I do make time for regular date nights with my husband. But if I'm honest, a lot of time is spent organizing events and activities that we enjoy as a family. The children are still quite small and this time won't last forever, so I won't to make the most of it while it lasts. But of course spending good quality time with your partner is a must, so I do put a lot of effort into having one to one time with my husband.

I think I'm the only one here who's an only child! I don't think my parents ever planned it to be just me but that's the way it happened. As a child, I always wanted at least one brother or sister. But my parents always made me feel very loved and I never wanted for anything, and I don't just mean in a material sense. They always made sure I was very sociable, doing activities, joining groups and making lots of friends so that I never felt alone and I think that's been a big help as I didn't go through life always pining for a sibling. I know some people have brilliant relationships with their siblings, and then there are those who don't so I know it can go either way. But that said, I'm glad that I have two kids which means that each of my children has a sibling. As for me, well I married a man who has siblings and they're now the closest that I have to siblings myself - and I couldn't ask for better!

Even though we're not Spanish, my parents chose a Spanish name for me which I love and my own kids have Latin names. I suppose I like French and Italian names. I just love how they sound, so beautiful and poetic. To be honest I don't know anyone who wouldn't like those names. If anything it's me who doesn't like a lot of those old fashioned names that are starting to make a real comeback. Names like Albert, Edie, Ethel. No offence to anyone who has chosen those sort of names for their kids. But it's not for me.

Did your guests come over Green? And how was it? Haha! Another EB girl here so I definitely feel your pain. I'm not really sure I'd be able to contain my anger if someone broke one of my EB pieces and then didn't offer to replace it. Come to think of it, I'd be annoyed if they broke anything and behaved in an inconsiderate manner. We're all old enough to know how to behave as a guest in someone else's house so to me it sounds as though they're just plain rude. Why should you have to pack up breakables when they ought to know better. If it were me, I just wouldn't bother inviting anyone who didn't know how to treat my home back again. But I know that this is your husband's family so this is where it gets really awkward. I'm glad that I don't have to worry about such things with my in-laws and if I did, then I know my husband would step in and deal with the situation. But I agree with everyone here, it's your husband who needs to talk to his family if they're stepping out of line.

Hello Green! I have to say I share a lot of your interests and since moving into our 'forever home' I've been really big on interior design. I don't mind admitting that my Emma Bridgewater display takes pride of place in our home. I just hope my kids will never knock anything over!

Ah, thank you everyone for your kind words. I was a little worried about the kind of comments that I'd get but you've all been really sweet so thank you. Just to clarify, right now my sis-in-law and my husband's ex are just Facebook friends - that's how they've reconnected. As far as I know they haven't met up in person yet. If they had, I'm sure my sister-in-law would have said because she is very upfront and wouldn't go behind anyone's backs. I suppose it could happen because they were good friends at the time, plus she was very close to my eldest nephew so there's a chance she might want to see him again, and if that happens, then I suppose I'll just have to cross that bridge when i come to it. 🙄 Someone asked why I feel so threatened by her. I don't think it's 'threatened' so much as 'awkward.' If I'm honest I dread bumping into her again and having to make small talk and whatever. But I know that I don't have anything to worry about. My husband and I have been together for quite a while now. We've built a life together and a family. I suppose it's just being confronted by the ghost of girlfriend past! And I'm so grateful that many of you have picked up on what a lovely lady my sister-in-law is as well as all my other in-laws. I really am a lucky lady because as a couple of you said, there's loads of people out there with horrible in-laws, and I'm delighted to say that I'm not one of them! 😊 Thank you all.

I don't know what else I can add that hasn't already been said, not just on hear but by people everywhere. Anyone with a heart, a brain and a conscience knows that this invasion of Ukraine is wrong on so many levels, and there are people who really need to be hanging their heads in shame for their involvement in all of this. But it's BettaDaze's post that's really got me. I'm a mum of two and my kids, along with my husband, are my entire world. I can't imagine what these poor parents must be going through who are having to be separated from their children, or even what those poor babies must be feeling as they're having to escape without their parents. I'm just praying that they're all able to get to their destinations where they can safely wait for the rest of their families to join them. It makes you feel how lucky you are, and I will now think twice before taking anything for granted.

I'm in no way condoning what Will Smith did but let's be honest, that was very out of character for him. At least from what we can tell of him. He's been on our screens for more than thirty years and there's never been a glimpse of such behaviour in all these years. There may be something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, but if there is a problem then I hope he gets the help he needs.

We don't live too far from London which is important as we have family and friends there but we don't really miss living in the city!
